Is there anything better than the feeling of a fresh itinerary and a full tank of diesel? I don’t think so. As we roll into April 2026, the team here at Caravan Adventuring is buzzing with excitement. We’ve spent the winter prepping the gear, checking the tyre pressures, and daydreaming about sunsets over the Mediterranean.
This year, our travel plans are bigger and bolder than ever. We’re taking our trusty Coachman Acadia 565 on a journey that spans the peaceful hills of Shropshire, the rugged beauty of Scotland, and eventually, the sun-drenched coast of Spain. If you’re a fellow caravan or motorhome owner, you know that the planning is half the fun: and we’ve got some absolute gems on the list for this season.
Our Home on Wheels: The Coachman Acadia 565
Before we dive into the "where," let’s talk about the "how." For 2026, we’re sticking with our absolute favourite rig: the Coachman Acadia 565. It has been our faithful companion for a while now, and for good reason. It’s the perfect balance of luxury and practicality.
The twin-bed layout works perfectly for us, giving us plenty of room to breathe without feeling cramped during those longer stints away. Plus, the build quality of a Coachman is second to none: it handles the motorway miles just as well as it handles the winding country lanes. We’ll be sharing plenty of caravan reviews as we test out some new gadgets along the way, but the Acadia remains the heart of our adventures.

April: Fields End Water Caravan Park
We’re kicking things off relatively close to home to make sure everything is ship-shape before the rest of the season.
Fields End Water Caravan Park
Our April trip takes us to Fields End Water Caravan Park. It’s a great spot to ease back into touring mode after winter, with a peaceful setting that gives us a chance to get everything dialled in before the busier months ahead. May: Cartref Caravan and Camping Site & Concierge Camping
May keeps us in the UK with a pair of great stays.
Cartref Caravan and Camping Site, Shropshire
Our first May stop is Cartref in Shropshire. If you haven't been, it's a beautifully maintained, multi-award-winning site. It’s the perfect place to shake off the winter cobwebs. We love the "rural but accessible" vibe here. It’s all about those quiet mornings with a coffee in the awning, looking out over the Shropshire hills.

Concierge Camping, West Sussex
Next, we’re heading south to Concierge Camping. If you like a bit of "glam" with your caravanning, this is the place. We’re talking heated floors in the shower blocks and luxury pitches that make you feel like royalty. It’s a great spot to test out our full outdoor setup, including our Telta awning, which really comes into its own when we have the extra space of a premium pitch.

June: Eye Kettleby Lakes & Delph Bank
As the days get longer, we’ve got two UK stops lined up for June.
Eye Kettleby Lakes, Leicestershire
One of our June stops is the angler's paradise (even if you don't fish!) of Eye Kettleby Lakes. This adult-only site is the definition of tranquility. The lakeside views are stunning, and the on-site bar and tea room are dangerous for the diet but great for the soul. We’ll definitely be capturing some footage here for our United Kingdom gallery.

Delph Bank, Lincolnshire
We’re also heading to Delph Bank in June. It’s a hidden gem in the heart of the fens, a quiet, adult-only park that is meticulously cared for. The floral displays here are legendary. It’s a great "breather" site: the kind of place where you can actually finish that book you’ve been carrying around for six months.

July: Ashleigh Farm Caravan and Glamping & Linwater Caravan Park
July keeps us on the UK leg a little longer before we head abroad.
Ashleigh Farm Caravan and Glamping

We’re moving onto Ashleigh Farm in July. We love supporting farm sites; they offer a rustic charm that the big commercial parks sometimes miss. It’s all about the fresh air and the feeling of being truly off the beaten track.
Linwater Caravan Park, Scotland
Also on the July schedule is Linwater Caravan Park near Edinburgh. This is a fantastic family-run site that serves as the perfect base for exploring the capital or heading further into the Highlands. The peace and quiet here are second to none, and it’s a great spot to prep the Acadia for the long drive south that’s coming up afterwards.

August/September: The Grand European Tour
This is what we’ve been building up to. By August, we’re packing the passports and heading for the continent.
The Journey: Tunnel vs. Driving
When it comes to getting to Spain, there are two schools of thought. Some prefer the long ferry from Portsmouth to Santander or Bilbao: it saves the legs but can be pricey. We’ve decided to take the scenic route: the Channel Tunnel into France

and then the "Great Drive" through France.
Driving through France with a caravan is a joy compared to the M25. The motorways are wider, the "Aires" are frequent (and often surprisingly nice), and the scenery changes beautifully as you head south. We’ve got a few stopovers planned, but the primary destinations are the Sandaya resorts.
Camping Sandaya Cypsela Resort, Spain
Located on the stunning Costa Brava, Cypsela is where we’ll be spending the bulk of our summer. This is a 5-star resort that has everything. We’re talking about a massive pool complex, direct access to the beach via a shuttle, and pitches that are shaded by beautiful pine trees. It’s the ultimate reward for the long drive. We’ll be uploading plenty of Europe videos from here, so keep an eye out for those!

Camping Sandaya Paris Maisons-Laffitte, France
On our way back north in September, we couldn’t resist a stop in the City of Light. This Sandaya site is unique because it’s located on an island in the River Seine! It’s only a short train ride into the centre of Paris, making it the perfect base for sightseeing. We’re planning to visit some of our favourite spots and maybe even head over to Disneyland for a bit of magic.

Evenings in the Awning: The Caravan Life
One of the things we’re most looking forward to this year is the social side of caravanning. Whether it’s a BBQ at Cypsela or a quiet drink under the LED lights of our awning in Shropshire, those evenings are what make the lifestyle so special.

We’ve recently upgraded our outdoor living space with some new comfortable seating and rugs to make it feel more like a home away from home. There’s something magical about sitting outside when the sun goes down, even if the British weather decides to play up.
Practical Tips for Your 2026 Road Trip
If you’re planning a similar route, here are a few things we’ve learned during the planning phase:
- Book Early: Especially for sites like Concierge Camping and the Sandaya resorts. 2026 is looking to be a busy year for caravan travel, and the best pitches go fast.
- Check Your Insurance: Make sure your caravan insurance covers you for extended European travel. Some policies have a limit on the number of days you can spend abroad in one go.
- Toll Tags: If you’re driving through France or Spain, get an Emov or Bip&Go tag. It saves so much hassle at the toll booths, especially when you’re towing.
- Stay Connected: We use Starlink in the Acadia to keep the blog updated and the Netflix running on rainy nights.
