The only aspect of the site that feels dated are the toilet and shower blocks. They are however spotless and clearly well cared for. Even on cooler May mornings, the heating kept everything warm. Consequently, getting ready felt easy and comfortable.
Furthermore, the site includes thoughtful extras that show real care. There is a dedicated dog exercise field and a handy dog loo area. The owners even provide flushable poo bags. Additionally, these details make the stay easier and more enjoyable.

The Hungry Chef provides food Thursday to Saturday and on the last Sunday of every month as well as Sundays on Bank Holiday weekends.
Bartref works as both a bar and a café. You can pop in for daily coffee and cake, or settle in later for local favourites like Wrexham lager and Shropshire gin. We also liked how easy it felt to chat there. Moreover, it hosts special events, including charity nights and celebrations. It is also the place to catch live sport, from the 6 Nations to the World Cup. Consequently, it is easy to settle in for the evening and enjoy the campsite atmosphere.
