Our Winchester Morn Hill Club Campsite review covers everything from pitches and facilities to cleanliness, location, and overall value for money. Located just outside the historic city of Winchester in Hampshire, this popular touring site offers a peaceful countryside setting while still providing easy access to nearby attractions and major travel routes.
We stayed here looking for a relaxing break with good access to Winchester and the surrounding area. The site has the organised feel you would expect from a large touring campsite, with tidy grounds, practical pitches, and a generally peaceful atmosphere throughout the stay.
You can find official campsite information on the Caravan and Motorhome Club website.
Arrival and First Impressions
Arriving at the site was straightforward, with clear signage once nearby and an easy check-in process. The site itself immediately felt well maintained, with neatly kept pitches and clean surrounding areas helping create a positive first impression.
Meanwhile, the overall atmosphere remained calm and relaxed throughout our stay, making it feel ideal for couples and caravanners wanting a quieter touring experience. Although the site is fairly large, it still managed to feel organised without becoming overcrowded.
The Pitches
The pitches at Winchester Morn Hill Club Campsite were practical, level, and easy to set up on. There was a good amount of space for the caravan, awning, and outdoor seating area, although some pitches felt slightly more open than others.
While the pitches were perfectly functional for touring, they lacked some of the premium landscaping and privacy you occasionally find on higher-end touring sites. In addition, depending on pitch location, there was also some light road noise noticeable at times.
Facilities and Site Standards
The facilities across the site were clean and generally well looked after throughout our stay. Toilet and shower areas were tidy, and the overall maintenance standards around the campsite remained consistently good.
However, parts of the facilities felt slightly dated compared to some newer touring sites we’ve visited. Everything worked perfectly well, but the site perhaps lacked some of the more modern touches and premium feel you sometimes expect from a quality campsite.
Even so, the site still offered everything needed for a comfortable touring stay, including practical service areas and good overall organisation.
Location and Exploring the Area
One of the biggest strengths of Winchester Morn Hill Club Campsite is its location. Winchester itself is only a short drive away and offers plenty to explore, including the famous cathedral, shops, pubs, restaurants, and riverside walks.
The site also works very well as a touring base for exploring Hampshire and the surrounding areas. Whether heading towards the New Forest, the South Downs, or nearby coastal areas, the location makes travelling around extremely convenient.
As a result, the site suits caravanners who enjoy a mix of countryside touring with easy access to nearby towns and attractions.
Would We Stay Again?
Overall, Winchester Morn Hill Club Campsite offered a relaxing and practical touring experience in an excellent location. While some areas of the site felt slightly dated and less premium than expected for the price, the cleanliness, organisation, and convenience still made it an enjoyable stay overall.
For caravanners wanting a peaceful Hampshire base close to Winchester with reliable site standards and easy touring access, this is still a very solid option worth considering.
