Now that Big-T is converted and nothing went wrong on the test trip, our campervan adventures can begin! First stop - Bourton-on-the Water in the beautiful Cotswold countryside just outside the chocolate box village of Bourton-on-the-Water.

We stayed at a fantastically tranquil campsite just a 30 minute walk into town. Field Barn Park is an adults only site with lovely big pitches surrounded by mature planting and a kind of authentic back to nature vibe that put us at ease straight away.

The site managed to retain a rustic feel whilst providing everything you need. They welcome campervans, motorhomes, caravans and tents and the site layout ensures it doesn't feel regimented, instead blending into the field, allowing for a peaceful stay.

Being so close to the wonderful town of Bourton-on-the-Water and the surrounding area is a huge bonus, this part of the Cotswolds is so beautiful and Field Barn Park is a great place for exploring, perfect for the first of our campervan adventures.

We are in the process of our self build camper conversion and in this video we install the water system,

This was a pretty straight forward job, but again we had some help from Ben at Outer Land Supplies to ensure we had just the right equipment. There are lots of possibilities when it comes to a water set up, but we chose a fairly straight forward approach. We're likely to consider an underslung tank in the near future, but for now, this is a perfect set up for Big-T.

If you're converting a van and want some expert advice on how to plan and install your electrics or water system, get in touch with Ben at Outer Land Supplies! And it's not just electrics and water either, Ben can also supply lots of the other essential kit too.

Here's a link to another of our Back of Beyond videos, with a full site tour included. It's from 2023 and a few things have changed since then but hopefully it gives you a better idea of the whole site.

We are in the process of our self build camper conversion and in this video the time has come to take our very first trip in the newly converted van.

There are still a couple of bits left to do but we had this trip booked up in advance and we don't want to delay it. So we set off to one of our all time favourite sites - Back of Beyond, near Ringwood in Dorset.

We were only there for a couple of nights, but when we were planning our camper conversion, it was just these kind of short trips that we were looking forward to.

We are in the process of our self build camper conversion and in this video we tackle the long awaited furniture install

This is the job we were most apprehensive about, not having had any experience in camper van electrics before. But having met Outer Land Supplies at the Motorhome and Caravan Show at the NEC, the task ahead felt less daunting.

From helping us design the set up that was right for us, to providing expert installation advice and guidance, Ben was great and made the whole task seem achievable.

It's fair to say that we managed to squeeze a lot of equipment into our small van, but we are so happy with the final installation, it's going to be perfect for the kind of trips we plan to take.

If you're converting a van and want some expert advice on how to plan and install your electrics, get in touch with Ben at Outer Land Supplies! And it's not just electrics either, Ben can also supply plumbing bundles and other essential kit too.

We are in the process of our self build camper van conversion and in this video we tackle the long awaited furniture install

Up until this stage, the work has felt very foundational and preparational, but wow, this has transformed the van! When tackling a camper conversion, perhaps one of the most important decisions is how you want to use the space and therefore which layout works best for your needs. For us, after extensive research we settled on the U-Shaped Layout.

The kit we chose is from Coolwhip Campers and we purchased it from our local van conversion specialists, Seaside Campers. Links to both are below:
