Starlink Mini: Review

Caravan Adventuring Recommended award for products scoring 45 out of 50 or higher

Our Starlink Mini review is based on real-world use while touring with our caravan. Reliable internet has become increasingly important for caravanners and motorhome owners, whether you’re streaming films, keeping in touch with family or simply browsing the web after a day of exploring. We bought the Starlink Mini to stay connected while touring, particularly on sites where mobile coverage can be unreliable.

This review is based on our own long-term ownership and real-world touring experience. We’ve used the Starlink Mini on numerous trips in a variety of weather conditions, giving us a genuine understanding of its strengths and the one area where it falls short.

Verdict: Outstanding

Caravan Adventuring Verdict

The Starlink Mini has completely transformed how we stay connected while touring. Fast, reliable internet almost anywhere means we can stream films and TV, browse the internet and stay connected even on campsites with poor mobile signal. The hardware is superb, setup takes only a few minutes and performance has consistently impressed us. The only downside is the ongoing subscription cost, with the Unlimited plan costing £100 per month. If you tour regularly and need dependable internet, it’s one of the best investments we’ve made.

Review Summary

First impressions are excellent. The Starlink Mini feels extremely well built, with a compact, rugged design that’s easy to transport and store inside the caravan. Everything feels premium, from the dish itself to the supplied cables and power supply.

Setup couldn’t be much easier. We simply connect the system to mains power, place the dish somewhere with a clear view of the sky and let Starlink do the rest. Within minutes we’re connected and ready to use the internet.

Throughout our ownership we’ve used the Starlink Mini for streaming films and television, general internet browsing and keeping connected while travelling. Even on campsites where mobile data struggled or failed completely, Starlink continued to deliver fast and reliable internet access.

We’ve also used it throughout different weather conditions, including heavy rain and strong winds. While speeds can occasionally fluctuate slightly during particularly poor weather, we’ve never experienced anything significant enough to stop us using it normally.

The only real criticism is the monthly subscription. At £100 per month for the Unlimited plan, it’s certainly not the cheapest way to access the internet. However, if reliable connectivity is important while touring, we believe the performance more than justifies the cost.

Value for Money:
